A TRUE STORY: Oliver’s Story:
I was found in the middle of the road one day, when I was just a little kitten. A big old car rushed toward me, as I looked for a place to duck away. I was unsucessful. This is where my story begins. People walked past me, but no one seemed to really care enough to stop. I was hurting badly. One lady stopped her car and got out in the middle of the road. She saw that I was still alive, and she picked me up and began to cry. Another person stopped. This lady made an impact. The other car had a mother and a child in it. The child was on her way to summer camp, and the mom was on her way to work. They both got a towel out of their trunk, and took me out of the lady’s arms. They drove me to the vet, and I meowed my small, shrill meow as I sat in the child’s arms. She whispered to me.. “Hi Oliver, I’m Camille..” in a sweet and mellow voice. I was calmed, and I finally reached the vet. I was kind of scared as I was rushed into my exam. Camille then told her mom that she wanted to keep me. The vet said I would need a very expensive surgery, because both of my hips had shattered at the ball and socket joint. They would need to remove my hips. The mom was hesitant, because they could not afford this. She had to think, so I stayed at the vet and they went off. The mom was at work and she explained to her boss why she was late. He just wanted to know more and more about this cat. After a few days, he offered to pay for the surgery. The mom and Camille accepted, and they went on. I had to get my tail removed, cause it was run over. They brought me home after a week, and my whole back half was bandaged. The surgeon said I wouldn’t be able to walk for a while because I had no hips. But, I got home and jumped. I jumped up on the table and ran around. It was a miracle. I am still with Camille and the mom, Rachel, today. I am the biggest miracle. REPOST IF YOU ARE ALL FOR SAVING ANIMALS.
